IMPRESSIONS:
This instrument represents one of the rare 6-string Jazz Bass style proposals. The woodwind configuration is that of a classic 1960s Jazz Bass, then maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and alder body.
Ergonomically, the instrument embraces like a classic Jazz Bass, a little heavier and slightly unbalanced towards the headstock. The neck, although not in the "racing" category, allows a good overall playability. In terms of sound, however, those expecting a true Jazz Bass will be disappointed because the bass, while remaining "Fenderian" in spirit, has a more modern tone, mainly given by the two Delano pick-ups (of the same type as those mounted on the Sandberg California ). The timbre is quite "thick", suitable for playing a little bit of everything including rock. Used in passive, the sound is decidedly medium, in active it acquires greater body on bass and treble also used in flat, and through the electronics it is possible to further shape the sound. The low register is very effective, the low B performs well in terms of presence and definition.
Playing chords on the high register you can appreciate the clear and intelligible timbre, while maintaining a good body. Overall, therefore, it is an excellent quality instrument that combines a Jazz Bass look with a slightly more modern timbre that is perfectly effective.
