On of the best moments at the Victor Wooten's clinic was a question from the gathered group. The guy asked if Victor would play his bass how would it sound? Victor said this is how a bass sounds, he put his microphone down to the bass. With out touching it, there was complete silence. After about 30 seconds he said that is how a bass sounds. If I were to play your bass it would sound like me. When you play your bass, it sounds like you. It's all in the hands, intent, and spirit of the player. It is something we all know, but nice to be reminded of.
